Homemaking during the Lockdown
Like many people in the UK, we have been working from home this month, which has meant more time in our houses than any season before. Life under lockdown brings our home environment into focus - the things we appreciate about where we live like natural light and green space, and the things we would perhaps like to change.
When home works well, it can be a place that roots us and restores us. A beautiful environment can contribute to our overall wellbeing, but not just by the design of the house itself, but how it fits you.
Having enough room for family members to have their personal space is a high priority in times like this; and introverts and extraverts also appreciate having spaces that fit their balance of social connection and quiet time.
Has the lockdown has spurred you to think about changing or extending your home?
In our experience, the best place to start a home-change is talking about it. When meeting with homeowners we use conversation tools to explore aspirations – for the function of the home, and for the look and feel of it, - to explore and find the shape of home that’s going to fit best for you.
At the moment these conversations are mixture of visits with social distancing - following government advice, - and video chats via Skype. But whichever we use, it’s through dialogue that we find Home.
If you’re thinking about altering or extending, get in touch and see how we can help.
